Old school DAC but a serious beasty. Mean power supply, lots of attention to detail not found today under 10K or more. The best Cyrus could offer at the time.
Lots of inputs and digital out, RCA and balanced and various digital inputs, just not USB. Will handle up to 48K BUT will beat the pants of most sub 8K disc spinnners at that resolution.
The best stereo shot in the arm for a basic DVD player and a good upgrade for many a CD player, or use it to improve your knypD O O S (squeezebox in Afrikaans). Easy unforced but high res sound.

Two separate 20-bit resolution D/A converters are employed with 8-times oversampling and a fifthorder filter maintaining phase linearity. The built-in power supply is suspended from the DAC board and uses a toroidal transformer with 16 separate regulated rails and star earthing.
The Cyrus Dacmaster D/A converter has a Pro XLR socket will accept signals from professional digital equipment and there is a further CD coaxial socket for connection to the digital outlet of any CD player so equipped. In addition TP input and Tape output coaxial sockets give access to any digital recorder having a sample frequency in the range 30-50kHz, and an OPT socket will accept the optical type of digital input.
These various alternative inputs are selected via four source selector keys on the front panel. Other controls/indicators include the power on/standby switch and LED, phase reverse switch and LED (green for normal, red for reverse) and a lamp to indicate whether the CD being played has been recorded with the optional high-frequency pre-emphasis. Very few CDs have HE emphasis but all CD players, including this one, are able to detect its presence and change the response characteristics to suit.
The digital signals from the selected input appear at the buffered Tape output for digital recording if required and the L/R analogue version is fed to the analogue output sockets. Both coaxial and balanced XLR outputs are provided. There is provision for driving the Dacmaster from a PSX-R power unit.
