Discovery and RR owners need to change tyres. Cruiser owners change suspension.
Interesting read on tyre pressures, suggesting that sidewall height is not that important.

OOOh Pirellis. Red rag to a bull time. Pirellis on a Disco. You haven't had that long ,have you?

See the RR  on the jack above? See the tires on 19 inch rims. They were Pirelli Scorpions. They will perish at the sight of a stone. They will not have replacements anywhere in the country. They will eventually find Pirellis that will be the wrong spec. You see, the RR Sport and Discos are exceptionally heavy vehicles so the tyres need to have a certain weight bearing index. ( 107 V or Y or some s$%t  I prefer to forget)  This is indicated in very small print on the tyre itself. That is where the hens teeth comes into it.Most tyre salesman are not even aware of this so they will happily sell and fit the wrong tyre. Been there ,had it done to me,have the attorneys letter, lost the money. Get the wrong tyre and your service plan and insurance and your life  go to hell.

Best for any 4x4 according to me is the BF Goodrich and fortunately they are available in my 18" configuration now. That said I have only had good service from my General grabbers and trust me I have done quite a bit of testing kilometres on them.
Problem is rim size is not getting smaller, even the new Prado has got 18" rims (in VX spec). I know the Pirellis are popular in the UK but that doesn't make them suitable for Africa conditions.

Audio Bug

Sorry for the late reply.
DIESEL

I currently drive a 2.7 a6 diesel (16km/l open road 10 to 11km/l town) and the 3.0tdi Q7 (10.5 to 11 km/l open road) (9 to 10km/l town driving)
and awesome torque, 380nm on the a6 and 500nm on the Q7.

My friends Land Cruiser is also diesel 4.5 litre turbo diesel with dastech chip, tjm suspension and 17" rims with bf goodridge all terrain tyres I think his consumption is 8 to 9km/l town driving and 9/10 km/l open road.
