I would normally say that those are wasted in that type of environment, as those severs have 45 - 50Db+ fans. have you put quieter fans in the racks or do the panels do all the work?

Fans in rack is off, very quiet fans in the servers... else panels to quiten the room as well.

Hi AV bros

This is me in NZ just after I filled my own gas. There's no petrol attendants here in ALL BLACK land.
They got lucky by the way.

I'm here in Auckland bud

Missing the 'STRICT LAWS' concerning speeding in SA though.lol...love the technology here!!!

Try V-Australia for the flights, they kinda reasonable, but the flight between AUS & NZ is in a smaller plane......and they charge for drinks/meals....so beware!lol

Where did you stay when you visited?

Ah, never made it north. Landed Wellington, stayed for a few days then went south - Blenheim, Kaikoura, Christchurch and then the Franz Josef glacier.

What desk is that Hugo? Looks like something I'd like to get my hands on! Although the EQ looks a little limited?

Cheers

Its a Souncraft GB4 32. The desk is nice and clean with lekker preamps. EQ: hi shelf, hi-mid sweep, lo-mid sweep with lo shelf. cool for smaller festivals or corporate gigs as its lacking on auxes for bigger bands [6 pre, 2 post]. Allen & Heath GL2800 is cheaper with better EQ, auxes and the huge A&H preamps if you are looking for something similar. Although people like Jimmy Dludlu, Nudegirls, Vicky Sampson and Mango Groove have been through it with no problems except for monitor sends if we didn't have a monitor desk.

Ah yes, I can see the extra set of pots on the pic now! First thought it just had Shelf Hi and Lo, and just the one mid sweep!

I do like the A&H GL2800, and would probably be one of my first choices, but the soundcraft gear is also nice! I started out with an old 16 channel Soundcraft studio desk, which is still being used in the church I passed it to when I moved from the UK. I also got to play with a 40 channel Soundtracs Midas desk which had a fantastic warmth that only analogue can give.

Still, would have loved to have gotten my hands on an SSL or Neve!

Anyhow, enough off-topic chat... Thanks for sharing!

I raise you a Focusrite Studio Console, Neve VRP96 & Solid State Logic SL4000G+   ;D  ;D  ;D

Focusrite Studio Console - Number 005 of only 10 ever built by Focusrite.
Google the history of this famous console...

Me at the huge NEVE VRP96 installed at Bop Recording Studios - the largest one ever built.
