Logitech has a database of supported devices on-line. You can check the compatibility for each one of devices.

Harmony One seem to be the popular choice.

Harmony one is a great remote and controls all my equip (incl Mvix and Marantz CD player)

If you can, get one from the UK, they retial for about £120-£140 compared with R3k here...

The UK is also (strangely) cheaper than the US.

The harmony 300i will control 4 items , your stuff will be on their database , I paid R230 + vat for one.

I haven't seen many remotes for sale in the classifieds.

@witblits, nice one! I'm planning to get myself a Harmony 1100 very shortly. How has your experience been with it so far?

I have 2 x 1000's  , I dont think they are great remotes...cool toys but not great for a few reasons.
Biggest problem is the recharging , if you dont leave em on the charging cradle , you almost guaranteed to get the low batt warning when you pick em up...last a day or 3 especially if you surf chans etc
Other reasons , the lack of hard buttons , 2 handed operation , sticky screens , having to page thru many screens/pages to get where you wanna be and poor touch response or latency. Rather get one that takes alkalines and has a lot of hard buttons.

I haven't had it long enough to really say but so far I am happy with mine.
I leave it on the cradle when not in use so the battery is never low.
The screen response is the same as my garmin and htc touch screen devices.
The only thing you must keep in mind when using it is that for programmed activities you need to keep the remote pointed at the equipment until all devices have been activated and setup for the activity.

What p'd me off re the 1000 was the lack of RF - they didn't advertise it as a separately purchased add on at the time such and I see the 1100 requires that add on for RF ..one would think at the price it would be included...

Cool, thanks for that info. I was deciding for quite a while whether to get the 1100 or 900. I eventually decided to forget reason and to just go with my instincts. My instincts feel the 1100 is a lot cooler :)

I imagine that the 900 would not be like that as it comes with RF Blasters.

So you are happy with the touchscreen? Do you know if it is a capacitive one?
