FS: Garrard 401 Motor Unit - Shotgun Sale to Fund Bathroom Changes

With apologies to Rodney Gold. I offer for sale one Garrard 401 motor unit in good condition. I have to sell as I have to scrape together funds to brick up my wife's bathroom. Yes, she will be inside as I have had enough of her newly acquired habit to use the Electrolux on the lawn and the Victa mower in the house.

I have plenty of out of focus pics of the 401 and its all packed-up and ready to travel anywhere without getting more knackered as it is already.

This is a rotten opportunity for all local slackers as this deck is an idler. Offers on or about R5K (postage ex Cape Town excl) will make you the new owner of this genuine, vintage British crock o' shite.

Sorry, there's no platter mat but I'll cut the unfortunate buyer a perfect cork mat from genuine Tonnesen sump gasket stock.

She won't be alone. I'm putting the stove in there as well, some Rooi Rose mags from '57, some stof lappe, a duster and a skoppie. She'll also have her clock radio with the tuning knob superglued to Kyp Tok and the volume glued to the err...'whisper' position.

My meals will be served through a hatch. That's the only negative as I'll have to go down on my knees for food.

the Garrard is just such a superior machine, the mechanics are solid. you do not need to mod anything on it as for the lenco you need to put considerate amount of work into it make it sound good. the lenco is something like a poormans Garrard.
that said once you've done the work is sounds incredible.

that is why i always say. the lenco is worth nothing untill you did all the work.

this is waaaaaaaay better than Rega, project, linn  ;D and all the other nonsense that people buy. with a good arm and decent plinth this can't be beaten
