I went and had a look at these, and they are in absolutely fantastic condition. I settled on the Focal 928s that Jamster was selling, but my decision was made due to practicality not sonic reasons.

They sound phenomenal, and the Kube adds a great deal of flexibility.

Anyone considering these can be assured they are on tip-top shape - Kurt really has looked after them and the mileage is low  ;)

What type of source equipment did you listen too and what type of amplification would you need?  They look in great nick and a year ago 104.2 were offered on this forum for R10 000 but the veneer had come off and looked nowhere as good as these

Hi Eclaire,

Richard could best describe his equipment that was used.

Pc based through his dac into an onkyo TX NR 5008 as pre, Kef cube 200 and then into an Onkyo power amp M508, see previous threads for specs on this amp.

Onkyo Pre/ power/ CDlayer and tuner also up for sale, power wise they are a perfect match.

By the way I imported new driver surrounds, and donuts from Kef/ Midwest speaker co, they were professionally fitted by Kef repair guy, Willie from Universal speaker repair 3 months ago. So essentially new. Regards Kurt 0837032300

These speakers took my breath away when I heard them demoed by Hi-Fi Installations  during annual fair in Sandton Hotel back in early nineties.
I just could not believe the sound, massively wide and deep stage, details and precision they were capable of...They started my love affair with Kefs, I ended buying Q80 few month later. Not 105 but Kefs nonetheless...
They deserve good home, best front-end and lots of power and space to show their greatness. Good sound doesn't age.

What type of source equipment did you listen too and what type of amplification would you need?

I used Flac files via ASIO transported by an M2Tech HiFace into an Apogee MiniDAC, and from there to NR5008 with Cardas interconnect.

Amplifier wise, anything above 100W should do the trick, but the Kefs move a lot of air so more juice (200W+) will open them up. They're pretty sensitive at 93dB, and I've read of some people getting great results with midpower tubes (50W or so).

Can't wait to get theme here - haven't even seen them yet. Pics and write ups look good though.
