Hmm, difficult one. Between my wife and I we probably already have 90% of the songs on there, but it might be nice just to have them all compiled on one album (and for the few we might be missing).

I don't think it's about the songs as much as the project, the songs in their originality are great to have but a different production and swing on the songs will be refreshing.
Very much like Trinity Session Revisited.

Isn't this just a compilation of existing tracks? I didn't hear much on the promo video I haven't heard before.

Yes it is but you take a track like Dear John, yes a brilliant track on it's own but even more sublime when you make it a duet with Ryan Adams.
Artists like Herbie Hancock, Belle and Sebastian, Dolly Parton , Willie Nelson to name a few.
This has much more to do than Norah Jones, it's more of a musical infusion of absolute Epic proportions, this is set to become a huge classic.

Wait sorry, I don't quite understand what you're saying. Dear John is a Ryan Adams track featuring Norah Jones, it's been out for a few years already. The Dolly Parton track (Creepin' on in) was even on Norah's own album, Feels Like Home. Are you saying it's just exciting having them all compiled on one album or are you under the impression that these are new/reworked tracks?

EDIT: Sorry, not trying to dampen your enthusiasm. Some great tracks on here, if you haven't heard most of them I'm sure they'll be a real treat. Personally I like the Q-Tip track "Life is better".

Dear John was with the Cardinals and Ryan Adams.
These tracks seems to have been re-worked, what's the point of the album then ?
They might as well have made it a compilation album of Norah Jones featuring with........ over the years.
She has even performed with Keith Richards, I don't see hi appearing here.
I can almost assure you that most people if any probably have around 30 % of these track somewhere in their collection.
According to the interviews it is a totally reworked studio album.
I don't quite understand what makes you think that this is just some slapped together album yet again.

Featuring Norah Jones, check the track list:

Perhaps they should have, because that is certainly what it looks like.

I don't quite understand what makes you think that this is just some slapped together album yet again.

Because between my hip-hop and my wife's blues/country/folk collection we have the majority of the tracks.

Edit:
"...Featuring is a star-studded collection of Norah Jones' collaborations spanning her entire career."

Sorry, not trying to dampen your enthusiasm.
Not at all, I am kinda beyond that.
I have listened to some of the tracks and watched quite a few of the interviews, the idea was to take some of her best collaborations of the past 10 years and put them on one album and where possible the songs have been re-worked, that is what makes it exciting for me.
This is an album for Jones and for her fans, this will become a classic.

Featuring Norah Jones, check the track list:

Is this not what I said ???
I have the record on vinyl as I have done with all Ryan Adams work.

Because between my hip-hop and my wife's blues/country/folk collection we have the majority of the tracks.
Hey brainwave, it just struck me, don't waste your money then.
Put them on to old the i-pod in to a separate playlist.
