Sound structure stand
« on: October 06, 2010, 04:30:32 pm »
Hi Forum

Looking for one (1) Impi sound structure stand to make a centre speaker stand.

I spoke to Hein but I just can not afford to pay R2K + for one stand.

I know its a stupid request but who knows you might have one laying around.

Thanks

AC

Like the look of his stuff, but I just cannot take anyone seriously when they assert that placing my NAS (located at the opposite end of my house relative to my listening space, and connected to my transport via ethernet over power) on his gear will improve the sound in my listening space.

I bought my first set from Hein about 6 years ago - one thing I can say about the man "he is passionate about his stuff!!"

Lovely speaker and audio stands..

i am also daily on the classifieds hoping someone will sell theirs, its not that I think they will make an audible difference to my set up but I their look (the sound structure tridents that is) and i like the fact that they are solid and heavy. I am old skool this way, to me heavy and solid equals quality, this logic might not stand for much but i know some old skool forumites that will agree with me.

Couldn't agree with you more Simphiwe.

The test I use when I buy furniture, If I can't lift it, it is quality.  Rather take an old couch and cover it in leather than buy a new leather couch that you can lift on one end with one hand.

He's got a stainless steel one at his factory.  Droolworthy in terms of looks, but I can think of a million ways I'd rather spend 100k!

I see I typed Impi - I actually have Tridents.

Not that it will make a diffrence - looks like Hein is going to make some money out of me.

I originally bought these stands for my first set of B&W 300's, they worked for my 705's (now on B&W FS700 stands) and ended up with my 601S3's on them in the playroom.

Just goes to show that a quality pair of stands will last you years !!

Cheers

I was just going to say... 2K+ for a single Impi... I wish...
Ac, a possible solution has just presented itself - I'll e-mail the details...

Stainless Ref Laminate - 100K? Again... I wish...
Just for the record: The customer who commissioned the first Stainless Ref Laminate spent 200K+ on cables before his SoundStructure was installed. He thought that the cable investment (improvement) was well worth the money... Until said SoundStructure was added to the equation.... :D
So ja, spend the money elsewhere on your system - It's your loss...

Hein, to clarify, when I said I can think of a million ways I'd rather spend 100k, none would involve audio...my comment was not intended as a swipe at your Stainless Ref Laminate.  Having said that, if you're game for demoing a suitable Sound Structure using my equipment in my listening space and I hear a marked improvement that IMO warrants the spend, you'll have another customer.

Standard (audio) units are always available for demo.
Feel free to pop by and collect one for a weekend (or longer)...
Reference units are custom built-to-order only. The logistics involved makes it impossible to demo Ref units.

But the guarantee still stands; (...no pun intended) if you're not happy with your purchase, (in terms of sonic improvement) we'll take it back...
In (over) 20 years, this is yet to happen.  ;D

Ja, other than a pair of Schalk's Black Widow monoblocks, I'd be inclined to spend (a "spare") 100K on many other things other than audio... But then again, I already have a SoundStructure  :P  ;D

I nearly had the wifey interested in these stands, until she saw the R17K+ for the stand I was looking at! Hehe! I think she was expecting more like R2k? Nice though!

Situated in the Land of Wine and Money! CT! Now just to get some of that wine and money into my hands.... Hmmmm.....

Anyone have a picture of one of these? The website seems 'generated'

I need to start saving for an audio stand.

Hey, I have a pair of Valve Audio Black Widow Monoblocks and guess what - They are sitting proudly on Sound Structures dedicated stands, just where they deserve to be. Not to sound Biased, but i have been using Heins products for 18 of those 20 years and yes they make a significant improvement in sound quality.
This is single hands down the best improvement you can make sonically and visually ;)

I'd rather not comment on the improvements in SQ, but it's surely an improvement in looks over anything I had in the past
