Denon Cat5 Cable
« on: September 08, 2010, 12:49:44 pm »
Hi guys,

so what do you think of Denon's Cat5 cable?  "Made of high-purity copper wire, it's designed to thoroughly eliminate adverse effects from vibration and helps stabilize the digital transmission from occurrences of jitter and ripple"  :o

Make sure to read the reviews!

*Cough* Bull Sh.. *cough*
Digital stays digital.
Does this cable turn the 1's into golden 1's, and the 0's into platinum 0's?

It is the same as those Balance bands. It is a silicone arm band with a hologram picture on it. If you where it, it interacts with your body's frequencies and makes you more stable!
these silicone arm bands sell for anything between R400 and R600!!!!!

Expoitation of the gullable!
I think it is time I jump on that band wagon.

Did you notice the brading around that cable. I guess that is there that if you push a lot of data, that the cable will not swell up like a brake hose in your car :-p

I knew my day was going to improve when the truck pulled up at my home with this cable deep within. No ordinary truck, this one was Holy White, and the gold Delivery logo sparkled like a thousand suns reflected through shards of the purest ice formed with unadulterated water collected at the beginning of the universe. The driver, clad in a robe colored the softest of white, floated towards me on the cool fog of a hundred fire extinguishers. He smiled benevolently, like a father looking down upon his only child, and handed me a package wrapped in gold beaten thin to the point where you could see through it. I didn't have to sign, because the driver could see within my heart, and knew that I was pure. Upon opening the package, an angelic choir started to sing, and reached a crescendo as I laid this cable on my stereo system. Instantly, my antiquated equipment transformed into components made from the clearest diamond-semiconductor. The cable knew where to go, and hooked itself into the correct ports without help from me - all the while, the choir sang praises to the almighty digital god. With trepidation, I pushed "play," and was instantly enveloped in a sound that echoed the creation of all matter, a sound that vibrated every cell in my body to perfection. I was instantly taken to the next plane, where I saw the all-father. I knew with my entire soul, that all was good in the world.

But then I realized the cable was blue, so I only gave it one star. I hate blue.

It's not the size of the sub, it's where you place it.

These cables are easy to work with, attractive, and produce excellent video quality with no noticeable signal degradation. (I couldn't rate audio quality, for reasons explained below.) Equally importantly, the clips are solidly constructed, and even when my two year old ran through the room shrieking "zombies!" and tripped over the cable the connection remained snug. Kudos to Denon's engineers for paying attention to this oft-overlooked factor in cable design.

However, I wish that Denon's engineers had put as much effort into ensuring that their cables don't raise the dead, because this is an obvious product defect that greatly curtails my enjoyment of my home theater system. After installing the new cables I sat down to enjoy Jurassic Park (blu-ray), but by the time Dr. Grant was frightening the fat kid with the velociraptor claw I could no longer hear the speakers over the din of the walking dead beating on my front door and smashing my windows to eat the tasty, tasty brains of me and my family. I've had similar experiences with lower quality cables, but they at worst they raised the dead as slow, shuffling Romero-type zombies, while the Denon cables bring them back as the spry, vicious 28 Days Later type. Repeated tests with different movies all produced the same result (except for Howard The Duck, and who the hell wants to watch that?!), and also resulted in most of my family being infected or devoured. I expect better from high-end home theater equipment. Disappointing.
