MM MC phono preamp

So I decided to venture into the TT arena, but to do so you need a pretty decent TT and Phono stage. not to mention all the LP's

so I got myself a REGA planar 2, RB200 arm (all this will be stripped and rebuild to a much higher spec)

then for the phono I had to come up with a decent phono stage. I used this stage for the MC step-up

MM is a Rod Elliot design. (from experience he isn't to bad when designing something) so I went with his project 06

just to stir matters even more I have chosen the LM4562 as the opamp of choice

here is the layout.

the power supply has proved itself with other of my designs and is very low impedance.
the LM4526 is a ultra quiet op-amp with fantastic PSRR

101mm x 180mm it is meant to fit into the same profile enclosure as the gerdac.

first 6 boards are ordered. not doing anything fancy with it just a naked board to keep the cost down.

did some very quick building yesterday when the boards arrived. should be able to finish today to test it out

sorry there is no schematic for that. it is a simple double regulated power supply. I never bothered to to draw it up

Nice build!

Just a concern - are your mains inlet lines fused on the device? Remember, safety first!

inline fuse on the plug. this is always part of my prototyping setup. just much quicker to implement and rip apart if i need to.

...but save equipment and possible fires! I will always use fuses in my equipment, the so-called sonic difference is minimal and completely inaudible.

Last week a mate of mine's house burnt down while the family were in bed. They suspect a computer power supply was the cause.

Never suggested bypassing the fuse, sadly, it is audible to me.
