I have a Mede8er MED500X2 with a 2TB drive that has gone on the blink. The device can still access and play all media on the drive but Windows does not see it (ask if I want to format it every time or tells me it has no recognised file system). Chkdsk has not helped. I downloaded MiniTool Power Data Recovery Free Edition and it detects all the filles but has a 1GB free usage limit. Is there another recovery tool I can use to syphon off the files (most importantly the enture Top Gear collection complete with specials) before formatting?
