This thread made me drag my baby Thorens out the dark for a quick spin... and after 50-odd years (give or take) she still sings sweetly!
Here's my slightly neglegted looking TD150 Mk II  - needs a refurb on the scuffed plinth and the paint on the armboard is "crackled"
Bought some bits and pieces for another deck from a seller in Greece on e-bay who became a friend. He found the missing tracking force weight for this deck in Athens and sent it to me for free!

Will some time have to have a new cover made for this one as well. It has a nasty crack right in the middle of the cut-out that allows for the arm on the side when playing.
Just say the word if you need to borrow it for a template. Maybe we should have a few made in one go!

The dustcover I have is cracked in exactly the same place... must be a weakness in the design... I really like the tp13a arm. What I have wondered with it is what difference it makes the way you tighten the knurled nut on the back ball... with weight the ball falls naturally like you have it...

In the manual though I notice that they the ball like so:

Surely having it like the picture above would add a twisting force on the arm and the bearing...

Maybe twisting the weight counteracts the weight of the  headshell/cartrige exert at the pivot due to the j shape of the arm?
Have you noticed the pivot is also at an angle to the arm so that it is at a right angle to the cart? What does the manual say if anything? Sorry more questions than answers. :-[ ;D

Mine have the exact same scuffs on the plinth where the cover comes to rest as well as the cracked armboard paint. I might replace the armboard with cherry wood later.

Do you live in CT? Maybe, if you decide to replace the cover, you could ask them to keep the dimentions so I can have one made as well.

I know this and had a good laugh! So my reply was perhaps an attempt at irony. Still, one can never be too carefull... netnou the mafioso gets you with them baseball bats... or worse: them tommy guns! :o ;D

I'll keep a lookout for pics of the cover, once you got it made, thanks.

Cheers!
