Cheapest I can find on web :

I am in Sandton.

Ex works price is E13.50 each pancake (for this order only).
Minimum order is a box of 20. (I only want 10).
If there is enough interest I can order more boxes.

I have yet to get shipping cost (which we will share). I will ensure cheapest secured shipping.
If anyone is interested please give me approx numbers so that I can increase the order as required.

I would like to place the order latest next Monday morning.
Thanks.

Didn't realise the forum is now doing takeaways too  ;D.  I have no idea what these "pancakes" are, but I'll take a dozen with cinammon sugar and cream, please.

Sorry for being cheeky!

OK, you've found the cheapest, but to what popular brand/model tape are they comparable?

You guys do realize that pancakes do not come with a reel included, right? That means you have to have empty reels to put the pancakes on... ::)

I think I might get some LPR35 from the company mentioned at a later stage. I've tried to find importers in SA before, but the "listed importer" is a guy who has a studio in Cape Town and he only imports 2" tape for use with his multi-track studio recorders.

Anyways, it will be interresting to see what the shipping is going to cost... :o

Cheers!

Hey Shaun, did you get the Revox!!! I phoned the guy too, but from what he described it was not mint enough for me, and used professionally for a looong time. Whats it like???? The price was very good......  Barry

We need some reels, then. I have one empty reel. And I need some NAB adaptors.

Yes, it has houding. It needs a bit of attention and at least one spare part. It released some smoke while the gent attempted to demo it. In the end we settled for a nominal amount. I reckon it can always be resurrected, and the outlay is small enough to offset any foreseeable future disappointment.

@shonver: Hope you find those reels. Pretty hard to come by as far as I know.

By the way, if anyone has a spare metal 7" empty reel (the trident type), I am looking for one. If it's a Pioneer reel, even better!

Cheers!

It's tight all around. Still, when you get around to it - if you get to it, pls let me know. I have no great need for more tape, but when sexy things become available, one must grab while the iron is hot.

I think so. I'm on there as Steerpike2. Steerpike was me also, years ago - but that account jammed up and I couldn't access it ever again.
