I am looking at laptops again... and noticing a little unexpected results on cpu boss, older i3 and i5's outperform newer i5's... of similar amount of cores and faster processor speeds, now immediately i am thinking - the tests have changed between the year to make sure the tests keep pace with the increased performance. or... the older spec cpus were tested in machines with more ram etc...
Our application is a laptop that would need to deal with MS Access easily whilst at the same time have a few webpages open with a screen reader NVDA or MS's depending on a lot of things and MS OUtlook and excel open in the background... and of course a ESET NOD... I think an i5 is about the minimum and there are a few cheaper ones available with i5-6200U, 4GB ram and 1TB drive... graphics fairly unimportant... the screen reader is a bit of a drain... old dual core laptop is frustrating...
