Its a long post, but maybe I'll feel better afterwords  :)

On the net it might not always seem like it. But sometimes it I have a lot of patients.
My car is in for repairs at a Gearbox specialist, fault came up last year March, and long story why and what trouble I had with the mechanics. It was the gearbox control unit and took more than three months to get ?fixed?.  There was however still some warning lights, but the machie told me the new unit is in trans-program mode, and it will be gone after sometime.

November the car gave serious trouble again, - same fault, but this time even worse. I took it in again since there is a guarantee on the repairs. New unit apparently only arrived in Jan, but I can understand that. Then the new unit apparently also blew and they have to investigate. But what piss me off is that the guy would tell me they test drive on Friday, and he?ll call me back by 3:00 PM. A week later I would still be waiting for his call only to be told the new unit blew. Why can?t he just call and tell me?

That was in February. In the mean time I was told that the reason for the unit blowing was a faulty alternator, and they had it fixed. Then there is a problem with the communication between the Gearbox control unit and ECU, and they have to replace the ECU. So I told him I have insurance on that and he must please contact them. Two weeks, trying my bud off to get hold of him, being told he?ll call me back but he never does, he would tell me the insurance only came back now and are prepared to pay 50%. Another week or two (he never phones) I?m told that he still waits for the assessor, since the insurance will pay, but haven?t decided how much. Many weeks later he tells me that everything is ok, but there?s a problem with the ABS light. I was told the modulator was at fault, and a new one should be there a week ago.

Phoned him yesterday and get told he?ll phone by 13:00. At around 16:00 I phone him to be told he's busy with a customer I must phone later. - This happens a lot.

Please take note that a lot of BS and detail is not even mentioned here. So at this point I flip and told the lady to interrupt. ?Sorry sir that?s not possible? So I told her make it possible.
He answers and told me a new unit has just arrived. ? ?Sorry, I thought the unit already arrived last week. Why don?t you keep me up to date?? I gave him an ear full for never calling me. I kind off get the impression he?s kind off pissed of at me for being rude towards him with him.

I was probably in the right. But It don?t feel good (almost guilty) for talking to him like that.
I also worry, because it is gonna be very difficult to prove he?s wrong if he replace stuff that?s not faulty. I already suspect some problems, like the ECU, could be real, but was caused by them in their incompetence.

Oh, and according to the insurance (mechanical warrantee plan), he never filed a claim, which I can?t do since I don?t have the detail.
