AH HAH ! was waiting for this after watching the purchase transpire in classifieds :D

I'm STILL trying to convince Gert to build another one :D otherwise order one of these http://www.diy-audio-kits.com/kits/novo-headphone-amplifier.htm
Its identical to the Graham Slee but cheaper because its a kit (you can buy it ready built as well)

I have a few head amps I would consider selling

Graham slee solo + PSU 1 R4.5k
Woo Audio WA2 R12k (but includes a lot of different valves)
musical Fidelity X-cans V3 R3.5k

The woo is 1st prize - butl comes in at a lot more than your 595's and it works exceptionally well with the 5/600 series of senns

(PS I also have a set of 600's and 650's up for grabs)
Currently I use a custom built discrete component dual mono amp to drive my 800's

Apologies for hi-jack, but what is crossfeed ito of HP amps? Reason for asking is that my Nuforce P8S pre-amp also has this on its HP output and HP sound is quite good.

Very basically crossfeed 'feeds' a small portion of the L into R and R into L channels. The idea being that when you listen to loudspeakers your left ear doesnt only hear the left channel and vica cersa for the right ear. each ear does hear a portion of the opposite channel, hence crossfeed is intended to make HP's sound more natural

Come on Gert, how about a kit for a group buy? I also need an amp for my Sennheisers  ;D

(Had a look at the Graham Slee / DIY kit version. Nice! Shipping is around £ 40 though, ouch.)

Hope YOU can twist Gerts rubber arm, I've been trying to LOL ( I hear he's partial to beer and whiskey)

I also considered that DIY G/Slee but ~R500 for shipping ??? >:( ???

Well, what are you guys prepared to spend for something like this? And how much interest would there be? I know Skinny wants to go the full hog, but to be honest I'd rather spend my time and put something together that'll benefit 90% of the people than do something esoteric for the other 10%. Sorry skinny, but time is a bit of an issue...

This is what I've done and what I've got in mind:

I've already done most of the work and it works brilliantly.

Hello Gert

-I'd be interested in the pcb and components in kit form. Assembly I can manage, as I did electronics back in the day and I do have 3 good avsa buddies that can help me out here in the Cape Town area if I get stuck!!

What I'm thinking is that I can have some PCB's made for this, but leave the assembly and procurement of parts up to you guys. The only thing that can't be procudered locally is the TPA6120's. Someone can maybe do a sample request from TI to get these. I'll then fit them on the PCBs as they can be a little fiddly to solder. As I said, I can't spend too much time on this, but a lot of the work has been done already.

;D ;D I can live with that, I'm assuming thats a DAC and AMP ?

I would be happy with that in one box, nevermind 2 (I was a bit OTT with the three box idea :D) as long as Its got usb and either co-az or optical with volume control and possibly crossfeed I'm a happy chappy :)
