At what grey levels are your gains and cuts measured?
I have found subtle differences when I play around with changing these levels.

I have found subtle differences when I play around with changing these levels.

On CRTs you can adjust at about 30% and again at 80% and find that you have a perfectly linear greyscale.

With flat panels it's a lot less predictable. I usually measure at 25% and 80%. I then run through the greyscale and check how it charts. From there it's pretty easy to figure out which points to tweak. I'll usually run through the process a few times in order to get the best results with the least sacrifices.

The newer LG sets actually have 10 step adjustments, it's pretty awesome.

@Ken your settings worked very well.
Tested them on "Magnum P.I." on TopTv. Being an old show so the colours would be a little washed out with age, the show looked pretty clean without looking too falsely vibrant.
went through the other presets to see which it looked similar to and it came close to "Cinema".

Thanks dude.
