If There's more than one available somewhere I also would like to get my hands on one again. Even if not working.

My first ever computer. :)

I have a virtually new one, but I don't think it is the 128K one.

It was expanded at the time to the biggest memory available when I bought it.

The ZX spectrum is available new again for around R1000. Runs on Windos or Android.
There is Always justification for more Amplification!

Send an email to ron.van@axxess.co.za and ask him if he wants to sell the one he has lurking in his cupboard.  His name is Ron

Don't know if you came right, but I did see this:
https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-other-video-games-consoles/sandton/vintage-zx-sinclair-spectrum/1001845161620910747704109

I came right yes.

Big thanks to Ron. He packaged the spectrum very nicely. But still have to find time to actually switch it on.

Will let you guys know how it goes.

Hendrikbez, the Spectrum you were looking for is that the 128k version with the cassette tape mechanism built in on the side? Did you find one?

Valvaglo, the basic Spectrum came with a 16k memory and the installed extra memory took it to 48k, I think this is what you have in mind,  the only 128k version I have come across is an entirely different looking machine and keyboard.

Growing up I had the model you're looking for: The ZX Spectrum 128 +2

Man that was a lovely machine; and the commodore / spectrum rivalry was fierce at school!   :envy:  :boxing:

Hendrikbez, I think I have one of those, or I should say I had one. Somewhere packed away I have a carton full of Spectrum stuff plus all sorts of ancillery things, their printer, minature external disc/tape drive, not sure what the format is, joysticks etc, let me see if I can locate the carton and I will come back to you, some of my stuff is stored away from where I living at present so it may take time.
