There are a number of variants or modified versions of the much talked about Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray player, with the importer, Audio Tweak even using the catchphrase
"The most talked about Blu-ray player on the internet!" for its marketing of the player.
Looking at the Oppo section of the Audio Tweak website (
http://www.audiotweak.co.za/cat9.php?catID=10), I would like to see a shootout between the following versions of the BDP-83:
- the standard Oppo BDP-83
- the Oppo BDP-83 with the Level 1 Mod
- the Oppo BDP-83 with the Level 2 Mod
- the Oppo BDP-83SE (without any additional mods)
- the Oppo BDP-83SE NuForce Edition
- the Oppo BDP-83SE with the Level 1 Mod
- the Oppo BDP-83SE with the Level 2 Mod
I am sure that there are others (like me) who want to know just how good the BDP-83 and BDP-83SE are with these mods, especially as there are various price points between the players.
Please really do consider doing a shootout with the above list of players, or if it's too much trouble to get all of the above variants, a subset of the above players then.
