You'll get a great leading lines along the curve with horizontal, vertical might break up the image, because your eyes naturally follow a side-to side scan.... ymmv
OK! I've had it! I don't give anymore Kharma. Kharma should work in mysterious ways...

An interesting chat with Ian made me re-visit the CF route again. I've managed to get some sample pieces and some epoxy, so will try his idea over the weekend. If that doesn't work, then I'll fall back on the wood idea again.

But while the Zebrano looks awesome, a little level headed thinking and input from others have made me re-consider it. So I'm holding thumbs that the CF thing works out as I'm at a loss for a unique and interesting wood finish...

None, I'm afraid. I've been working furiously to get the HP amps done. I'm itching to get going with them again though!

mmmmm. Looked like them in the background of one of your HP amp pics... So. Have they moved to the front of the Q yet?

They will soon ;) I've actually found myself in a predicament without a decent TT and phonostage as well, plus I've got about 6 confirmed orders for DACs (that does not yet exist) as well ::) Man, I just know how to plan things :D

I know the feeling... I have two turntable projects lined up and then there is Rudi's phonostage ( http://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,6076.0.html ) that should come on line soon....

I'd rather not talk about it ::) Thanks for the offer ;) I've got that CEC I've been meaning to fix up. Now I've got incentive to do so :D And that old Sansui of yours is turning out to be a real beaut, although she's in a million pieces now. Pics will follow

Thanks Louis, but this'll be a great time to fix/finish all the stuff I've been meaning to. I've got all the parts for a valve pre, I must just sit down and put it all together.

I've had some time this week to spend on this project again. I'm basically done with all the fabrication. I've got to do some last touchups on the baffle so I can 2K it and then send the enclosures for CF wrapping. I've given up on doing CF myself, I just wouldn't be happy with it. I've had a look at the 3M Di-Noc CF vinyl and it looks brilliant. It's even textured! I just need a place on the East Rand where I can get it from, the only place I know about is in Kya Sands...

Now for the pics:

I'm going to have removable baffles, here's a pic of the studs epoxied into the Maple.
