The scary thing there is that MAC's now have intel procs, I tell ya soon they gonna have Windows OSX ;D ;D

Will probably get Vista at work with the next round of hardware updates - but considering our workstations got replaced late last year, it will be at least a year from now. Probably just in time to catch Vista SP1 ;) In terms of my home PC, my laptop won't run Vista and my PC is running XP quite happily. I'll be buying some kind of Mac to replace my aging laptop - just haven't decided yet if I want another laptop (don't need portability, and you can't upgrade them) or something like the Mac mini.

I really like those Macs. I saw some at the Corp over the weekend and I was quite tempted. The only thing that puts me off is that I do a lot of work at home and I dunno if I'll be able to still do it. OSX doesn't have some kind of Windows environment emulator, does it?

Hehe! ;D  Well, the only reason I need to emulate a Windows environment is to run Delphi and all my Embedded C compilers. Also, how am I going to run my cad packages? That kinda closes the deal on a Mac for me. It's a pity, because all this DRM stuff in Vista has really put me off... I might have to go for linux (shudder) In linux's defence, I've been playing a little with ubuntu. What a nice disti! Completely painless!! At least there are enough C compilers in linux to keep any nerd perfectly happy and they're free to boot! Not like the IAR C compiler I had to pay R25k for (*OUCH*)

You could always run MS Virtual PC for MAC. This allows you to create virtual PCs on your MAC where you can install something like XP. I have not checked if it is available for OSX, but possibly you could get WINE to run your MS program on MAC.

Parallels Desktop is apparently *the* virtual machine software to run Windows apps on Mac.

Erm, you can run real OS X in VMware. Only problem is, Apple doesn't sell it separately, so you basically have to buy a Mac to get the OS :)
