Will be a lot more calculations to get it working for a game, as you'll be moving around, not stationary.  And applying that to each and every sound in the environment.
Would be cool yes, but I'm sure you'd be able to get a better/smoother effect using 5.1.

As this mainly relies on the idea that one ear can't hear what the other ear hears, it's a bit sucky when wanting to play it on your surround system.
Well yes, but the point of it is that you get rid of that small sound stage in your head feeling and it sounds like you are immersed in a sound field. This is something headphones have lacked.

The algorythm is meant to apply headphones and not to speakers. 5.1 already does this for you - if in a slightly different way.

Given enough time and money anything is possible :).

Think about where we are with 3D monitors! 5 or 10 years ago we would not have thought it possible.

Note to self - must invent those polarised ear muffs ...

I haven't heard 5.1 coming even close to the "realism" of what I heard with this. I got a tingling feeling in my neck when that supposedly sexy chick whispered in my ear :).

Very good, and helped me out..

I listened and realized everything was mono.. as with the rest of my music.. I had not realised, has just been thinking things sounded a bit flat. Headpone jack was plugged in halfwayish which somehow gave me mono, not one channel!
