Comments and advice always appreciated - I am new at this :)

Also thinking of putting curtains up across the two entrances into the room - not to keen on going with doors as the house has a very nice open plan design we don't want to ruin.

I'm also still in progress...
Don't you think that putting a carpet down on the floor will also help? I have ripped out the tiles in my space and will be putting down a thick carpet.

BTW: I'm also looking at buying that Lounge Suite for my room.

yip - wooden flooring and a rug is next... we have a new puppy, so first want him house trained.

The lounge suite ended up costing R25,000 with a leather ottoman.

Looks great Rapid , lounge suite looks good. Enjoy your new room.
The nicest thing about smacking your head against the wall is......the feeling you get when you stop.

I'm sure this is more a personal choice thing, but how should I do the rear speaker wiring?

a.) Straight up from the speaker into the roof
OR
b.) From the speaker to the corner, and up in the corner into the roof.

Straight up to the roof. Get some flat trunking and paint over it just to make the cable a little less visible. If you do a neat job glueing the cable to the wall you can skip the trunking and just paint over the wire.

I plan on doing it neatly :) problem is the calbe is round... 3mm Monster ripcord.

That was my initial plan - but I'm pretty sure after the last time the girlfriend will remove some body parts I'm rather attached too.

Another question :)

Is there any point in having the rear cables the same length? Besides reusability in another room later on in life....

e.g. the one only needs to be 8m, where the other will be 15m.

You using 3mm cable? I doubt it'll be an issue considering these are surround speakers.
