B&W 800 Series

Hi Guys

I have to say, that I’m always soooo disappointed and frustrated when I see a beautiful piece of equipment like the B&W 800 series range on the outside of the magazine, and then there is no actual review inside.

I respect the need for ad space and the like.

I would however like to hear how this new release really differs from the previous.  On the higher models, because we all wish for them, and the lower (805’s type thing) where there is a chance I might be able to own them one day.

The end result of this, is there any plan to review any the speakers in that range?

Yes, I'm certain there will be reviews in a forthcoming issue - I know it's been pretty hard to get hold of the 800s, but Deon has already asked for the bookshelves, from what I am told, to review as soon as they are available.

I understand your disappointment, but sometimes the importers want to let people know that a particular product is on the way, so from time to time the cover becomes a feature on a particular technology or product that is heading our way - to whet the appetite, so to speak. But generally you can always count on a review as soon as the product has arrived and we're allowed to fiddle around with the stuff. You'll notice the same happening with our June issue, which focuses on a particular brand with some very special televisions...the television should arrive at our offices this week, after which we'll give it a review and let you know our opinions on it.

Updated: We're picking up the bookshelves on Friday for review. Reviews of the floorstanders are being delayed because as quickly as they come in, apparently they are being sold. But we'll get there.

Those were also "ported" designs, not so? But the enclosures were not called Bass Reflex
