I bought a pair of AKG K 271 MKII's (http://www.akg.com/site/products/powerslave,id,1064,pid,1064,nodeid,2,_language,EN.html) from a store in Cape Town for R2k. I saw the same pair on soundz.co.za for around R3900 on special.

I did get discount in the store, but it seems like a got more than I thought i did!!  :)

They sound great to me, and are extremely comfortable, but I am just starting down the road of audio appreciation, so would not say I'm the best judge at this stage.
