QED Speaker cable bulk buy

Good morning gentlemen!

I want to import some speaker cable from the UK.  I need 20m of QED XT Evolution

I can buy per metre, or I can buy a 100m roll of the stuff.The cost (ex shipping and customs) is as follows:
5.85 pounds per metre (ex shipping), or 535 pounds for a 100m roll (including shipping)

If you work the 100m roll price per metre, at an exchange rate of R12 per pound, it comes to R64.20 per metre (ex customs).  I phoned a well known Hi-Fi shop this morning and got a price of R70 per metre for QED Micro!  This makes me think the price from the UK is seriously worth it.

I don't think customs will be more than 20%, but even if it is that high the cost still comes to R 77.04 per metre.

I don't mind buying the cable per metre for myself, but if enough people are interested, I will happily buy the 100m roll and get your share of the cable to you.

I am happy to go with some Chord carnival silver screen cable if that is more acceptable to you.  Prices are slightly cheaper (some cents).

The chord cable is 10mm thick which makes it a bit difficult to work with - the QED is a bit thinner.

You can get the QED at 4.85pound  per meter and you can buy a 20 meter lenght at Futureshop and the Chord for 4.48 as well as 20 m lenghts. Shipping is calculated by weight so the QEd should work out cheaper on shipping here if you havnt spoken to them have a chat. The service is exelent and you get a 17% rebate because of VAT

Ok, the supplier in the UK does not want to send the Chord cable to SA.  They must have some agreement with Chord themselves.  We are stuck with the QED then.  Sorry about that.

Yes. I am in. It is easy to hide and perhaps if I rewire the lamp in my wife's office it might burn just a bit more bright, solving the low light issue SO I am in for about 20 - 30 meters.

That leaves us with between 30 and 40m on the spool.

It is a fairly expensive cable (even tho we are getting at a good price), so most people will want to use it for the front speakers.  That being said you could use it for anything you like.  Even to hook up your wife's lamp like Morne suggested.

Ah - ok - I just checked, I'm currently loaning QED Silver Anniversary XT Speaker Bi-Wire Cable from a friend for the fronts

I need to check if he's going to let me have them... else I might be interested.

Hi Ian, Have reassessed my needs and 10m will be sufficient for my needs - ie. 2x 2.5 for my fronts plus same for music only setup.
C'mon guys order just what you need and we'll quickly pull this through!
