I figured we should have a thread dedicated to literature involved in speaker building so here we go.
The first book I just finished is "Speaker Building 201" by Ray Alden. This book is interesting, because it takes you from the BASICS and introduces you to the key concepts involved in understanding what speakers do. It also illustrates the design of enclosures and crossovers. Admittedly, this book is less focused on the science behind the black art and more into practically designing speakers. I feel it is a wonderful stepping stone into the admittedly intimidating field of speaker design. I feel more confident tackling the works of D'Appolito and Dickason as these guys don't feel much for the beginner.
The next ones that I need to read is "Designing, Building and Testing your own Loudspeaker system" by David B. Weems and "Loudspeaker Desing Cookbook" by Vance Dickason.
