Hi fellas

Ampdog's reminiscences are always interesting, also the bit about meeting the late Harold J Leak.

A bit OT about this serious subject and I hope you don't mind me introducing a bit of restrained SEX into the quest of juggling valves, iron and capacitors without annoying the Marshall-loving axmen

The "nymph" in her skimpy Melinex outfit is twiddling some knobs of a 1968 model LEAK Stereo 70.

This pic comes from the June 1968 HFN, reporting on that year's Audio Fair at the Hotel Russell.

The pretty one is Hannah Leg (err Leak) giving dad Harold a hand at the show.

From my readings of audio related matters over the years, I know of quite a couple of stories about the rivalry between Harold Leak and Peter Walker but such tittle-tattle may start a war and that we don't want.

This topic seems to have disintegrated somewhat. As lamented before, for a moment I feared that we have lost the total contents, but it seems to have landed lower down here, for which I am grateful. (As said elsewhere, a local thunderstorm totally disrupted my basic skills in PC communication and dial-up connection when I innocently tried to split the 30W topics off to a new thread.)

I will not attempt further movements lest more structures come tumbling down, and request a member more skilled in PC-do to separate the relevant topics under a new thread 'A simple 30W Tube Amplifier'. Members are thanked for patience.
