I am absolutely loving the Grado SR60i, I have never before had headphones that sound like they do. I havent picked up the brightness that reviewers often speak of though, just wondering what the SR325i will sound like. thanks for the advise, ya'll were very helpfull.

The Grado 325is headphones are a bit like a BMW 320, or equivalent mid-range car. They are a distinct step up from your Golf or Opel and provide your first real taste of performance, without really taking you to the promised land. I wonder seriously if we don't waste a lot of money buying the hifi equivalent: really good mid-range kit which allows us both to hear how much better our music sounds and at the same tempting us to take that next step to real high-end gear.

Was wondering too if Simphiwes got himself either of the said cans?

I'm thinking of upgrading my sr80i as well, and 325i seems to be a good step up.

I actually never upgraded, I had a pair of Grado SR325is borrowed for demo for about a week or so (burned in and everything). I couldnt say the difference was night and day (which is what i had expected), bare in mind i had the SR60i to compare them to. I am not saying there was no difference, in my opinion the difference wasnt huge enough for me to spend the extra R3500 at the time. Fast forward to today, would i buy the SR325is, nope, the SR60i suite me just fine, i wouldnt mind the 80i/125i laying around for a different perspective now and then.
