Post Office strike
« on: August 25, 2009, 03:14:16 pm »
Hi,

Just in case some of you are unaware, the Post Office has been on strike for about the past week. For obvious reasons this is going to throw a spike in the wheel with regards prizes that have been posted, as well the magazines that are supposed to have been sent out. The strike seems to be a bit 'spotty', as we've had reports that certain post offices in Cape Town are open, yet numerous ones in Gauteng are closed. Sorry about any delays caused, and I trust you understand that we're every bit as frustrated as you are.

Cheers,

Andrew

One thing about a Government entity- when they strike, one hardly notices.

When the Staff at the local Hyper went on strike a while ago, they got temps in to man the tills. I've never been through a till as quickly as the day that the strikers struck... they should do it more often.   ;D

I remember a few years back when they went on strike, someone at my local post office had stuck up a sign that read something along the lines of: The Post Office is on strike. Spot the difference between this and normal operation and win a Porsche!  ;D

No problem here in Cape Town, as I received my copy 3 days ago.

BTW, check out the picture of Joel on page 70. Nice to put a face to a name, sometimes.

Striking here in the far East Rand... Went to pick up an item yesterday with great exitement and was really dissapointed.  The only thing that can be happening here is that we will look to alternatives when looking for similar services.

Guys, I thought it was extremely funny. The title of the article plus the pic together is very misleading.

Maybe we should clear this up :D I have known Shaun for a while now and knew that he did not think it was Joel in the pic, but I agree that the impression may have been that it was Joel in the pic ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

If anyone really wants to know what I look like (although I know not why ;D) there is a pic of me at www.journos.co.za
just click on my name.
My facebook profile shows me holding my little girl, who is much better looking than me.
