New sub-forum request?
« on: May 22, 2009, 09:13:50 am »
Hello there mod team,

In two recent threads (Cape Town get together thread and car vs home audio thread) it has come to light that there are a few (albeit clear minority) members who either have or may be interested in car audio.

I ask that you consider the need and if viable create a sub-forum for car audio. If the need isn't big enough then of course we can start a car audio thread in the general discussions forum but fear that it might get lost quite fast in a fast moving discussion group.

Have a good weekend, Brgds,
Ryan

Ryan, this is something Kay will have to do, but I am sure he will put it in place as soon as he gets the chance.

I am generally quite open to creating such a section, however most of the time I just use the "all unread posts" link so view all the threads in one place. Our current approach has been to identify common topics and create a section after the fact (and move existing threads there if applicable). I'd rather have too few sections with more topics than idle sections. So please feel free to start car audio topics wherever applicable (e.g. general or DIY section) and if enough of these discussions accumulate, I will create a new section and move the existing topics there. Does that sound reasonable?

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Let's monitor how many threads pop up and of course if it makes sense then we can go ahead with it.
