BD vs DVD
« on: April 01, 2009, 09:20:18 am »
Finally

We have an upscaling Toshiba DVD player and a LG BD player.

While both will be reviewed separately I will as suggested a few posts ago be able to make a few comparisons.

Only have both products for a short while, but anyone who wants to pop over to the AVSA office to join me in a cup of tea and a little bit of comparison, is more than welcome.

Still have to find same DVD and BD, may have to rent one or the other.

Come on guys! Anyone interested? As Joel says, the equipment is only in for a short while, and there's no point in him setting it all up if no-one is interested.

Mama Mia
LOL

AVSA should move their offices to CT, I can guarantee the guys around here (or at least some of them) would be up for it.
Caution, whatever you read above, may, wonder of wonders, contain some level of jocularity.

Where are the AVSA offices? This might be veeeery interesting!
It's not the size of the sub, it's where you place it.

Time? Date?

Unfortunately time is pretty tight perhaps i can plan around it

Have the ffg on DVD that match with gifs' blu-rays
Cars
Transformers
Iron Man
Fifth Element

There are others but these are ones that can be used to compare side by side with BR.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Tomorrow (Friday) or Monday maybe? I hope I could sneak out of work :( I must have a look at what DVDs I've got at home - I have Planet Earth on DVD, and I could possibly borrow the BD set as well to compare.

The Toshiba is on page 12 of the News section, April issue. Don't have a digicam handy so can't show you the LG, but it's due for an upcoming issue.

Brought my camera in today, will see if I can get any decent shots for you. The room is not the brightest.
