Great, now that my interest is piqued in Foobar I got the software in the latest SACM magazine and installed it. Only to realize again how stupid I am when it comes to “techno talk”. NO idea what it all means. The sound is excellent though on my laptop and Sennheiser headphones (or is it called cans on this forum?). This is gonna be hard work I take! [sigh] ???

LOL cans it is then.

The actual installation of components is easy, its just a matter of copying the DLL's to the components folder. Are you still running it as it comes when installed? coz it cn sound even better. For me foobar is the digital version of the "tinkering with vinyl" ;D ;D

Try the dolby headphone component and of course crossfeed. if you need a hand give a shout ;)

Thank you for offering help Skinny. I just loaded it from the disk in its "raw" format. Have no ideal what a DLL is? Is there any way I can get hold of a "already built" one. Don't know if it makes sense but one that has a couple of "add on's" I can just get from someone and install. I'm to "Foobid" to figure it out myself!

Dont know - these dont look too bad. Default though it is a bit plain. I like being able to control it from my Wi-Fi enabled PDA. Can browse your music library. manage playlists, and all the usual playback manipulation stuff. You can even have multiple devices and put each device into a different "zone" and control it independantly.
