Eeish, Gramaphone
« on: February 24, 2009, 03:45:10 pm »
As our domestic said as she saw my new work of art -eeish, gramaphone!

Re-build Lenco 75 using info from Lenco Lovers site.  This appears to be non-operating at the moment.  Should anyone want autocad plans, I think I still have them.
Clearaudio arm and ortofon red cartridge,  incredible sound from my old LP's.

There was someone posting reasonably priced isolating feet-does anyone know how to contact him or have any suggestions for alternatives?

Even my wife thinks vinyl is better than CD's.

Loverley!! Especially the wood/veneer grain.

I have an L75 and an L70 that want such a revamp. Are your plans different from what was on Lenco Lovers?

No, the plans were picked up at LencoLovers.  6 alternate layers, 18mm superwood/ply.

It was one of my easier projects and went without major mishap.  Servicing [also from Lencolovers] was pretty simple but watch out for the motor thrust screw which was rusted in on mine and broke 'cos I didn't know it was hollow!

Two of my faves are the Soundcare Superspikes and the Vibrapods. I sell Soundcare, ORDABA69 sells Vibrapods. Superspikes are spikes, the vibrapods are compliant feet. Similarly priced

Thanks for the info.  I wouldn't like spikes on the hi-fi stand so unless I've misunderstood it will have to be the vibrapod.

they are spike type feet with a self contained protector/load distribution plate with felt to save your furnitute. can cary 400 kg per foot. google soundcare superspike to see how novel they are...

you would need quite a stiff vibrapods to support that turntable. vibrapods come in different load bearing types.

Very Nice!

If you ask Francois of LL, he will go with non-compliant foot option - Soundcare Superspikes with a HD (non metallic) protector thingy. But then again, it depends on what's supporting the Lenco ... ;)

HEY (I've just checked), they're GONE!!! Lenco Lovers is now history!!!???

ece, did you at least get a "golden idler award" before they closed up shop?

And did you see the one I built for Randall?

The LL site seemed to shut down around december - so no golden idler.  I am sure it will come up again, a least I hope so.  One of the better web sites, with inspirational work.

The veneer was lacewood.  I think related to oak and pretty easy to lay compared to wilder veneers.

I showed you mine , please show yours.
