I found this on their website:

http://www.bwspeakers.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/local.faq/ObjectID/F5CA2B6F-3D20-11D4-A67F00D0B7473B37

Which mentions explicitly that warranty is not transferrable. Should I be worried when buying used B&W equipment? tpbp, you've bought used B&W before, what's the story?

Kay I bought a set of used B&W DM560 speakers 6 years ago and in those 6 years they were USED and I never had any problems with them!

I have now given them to my daughter who still use them on a daily basis without any problems.

I believe if you don't abuse speakers to often they can last for many years, so you should not be overly concerned. Just listen to them to check if they sound like you expect them to and check the speaker surrounds for damage.
Don't take life too seriously, you will not make it out alive.....

I know that speakers, if properly looked after, will last for a really long time. But just in case :)

I also bought my 602's used but from a reputable dealer. I have a good relationship with them and I expect that if anything breaks, I can talk to them to try and resolve my problem. I've always found good audio dealers are willing to go out of their way to build relationships with potential customers.

I've only had one speaker failure(Infinity Reference) and it was because I abused them. I however didn't have problems talking to the local distributor(I think it was Audio Imports) and getting them sorted out, despite having bought them from an 'unknown' dealer.

I say, go for it...you'd have been very unlucky if they break and your chances are good that you can have them sorted out.

Kay

Go for it, saves you running them in. Just inspect and demo well.

Never noticed.  Not really worried.  Bought from HFX and there service is brilliant.

Thinking about buying privately, potentially.
