« on: February 08, 2012, 07:12:18 pm »
For sale, one lightly used Air Tight ATM-300 integrated amplifier. With 8x8 (8Ω) watts on tap this one is for the high efficiency speaker crowd or, like myself, use it to drive a pair of AKG K1000 headphones. It is a sublime amplifier in a properly matched system.

My one, tubed with Western Electric 300Bs, NOS Mullard, CV4003s and NOS RCA 12BH7 with original packaging and documentation can be yours for R 30,000.00. Shipping is for the buyers account from Cape Town

Beautiful Amp. I'd love to try it with my HE-6 headphones, but it's just too far out of my price range.

I've seen this in the man's house. True words spoken, and a VERY good price for excellent kit and build quality / performance.

Wow, simply stunningly beautiful amplifier! Lovely ear speakers too! This is another one of those if only I won the lotto! ;)

Irvin59, I imagine the HE-6s would simply sound out of this world with an amplifier of this kind! How are you enjoying the HE-6s btw?

The HE-6's are brilliant-incredible detail and texture, but they need a powerful amp ( I'm using the Audio-Gd master 6).

Hehe, thats already a pretty potent headphone amplifier! Have a HE-500 myself (would be nice to compare it to the HE-6 someday) and though its power hungry its not nearly as voracious as the HE-6 :o 8)

Some great reviews out there on the Air Tight and love the copper bottom plate for EMI shielding and finishing! No wonder it is such a heavy weight! :)

It is indeed a very niche and expensive product. If you are a "headcase" though, then one of the holy grail systems to hear, even if only once is a K1000 fed by a decent 300B amp, and the Air Tight is up there near the top of such amps. I would hold on to it but I am spoilt for choice by the more versatile (for my needs) Leben CS300XS which can happily amp both my HD800s and K1000, albeit not with quite the same finesse.

My Air Tight never drove speakers, only AKG K1000 headphones. I do use a horn hybrid in my main system but they are BAT driven
