THE "I wish I could afford it" thread

okay - theres always those bits of equipment that get your pulse racing especially because you know you cannot afford them - so heres a thread dedicated to discussion and photo's of those special bits of equipment

to start it off i will ask "Can anyone finish a speaker better than Sonus Faber can"

Behold the new Sonus Faber Aida ...... its definitely a work of art

Sonus Faber Amati Futura

Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolution (reviewed in AVSA and stereophile recently)

these are some serious looking speakers and i wish i could afford to grace my home with any of these but my bank account is sadly missing a few 0's ........ which doesnt mean i cant admire them

the "Darth Vader" of speakers - supremely powerful and evil (ultimately in a good way) :P

Wilson Audio Alexandria

and then these amps plus the plinths they are on are not altogether too bad either (Lamm ML3 signature Mono)

those amps

and how about this for a turntable too

described as "The $6200 Hanss T-60, here mounted with an $8.5k Durand Talea II tonearm on the side."

the 802D's are terrific and dont worry if you cannot afford them ...... you have company cos i probably will only be able to afford them in about 10 lifetimes from now - best I would be able to do now is maybe a pair of CM8's or CM9's at a push and thats considering i sell what i have now too

Mine is much more humble! Just give me a second hand 3 or 5 channel Rotel power amp to add to my HT setup! ;D
If money was no object, I would simply buy equipment that looked and sounded great for what I watch and listen to....
