I agree that one should know if someone is recommending a product he selling as that will obviously mean he is biased.
I also don't want to go and search Gumtree CT to see what someone like Andre' (and there's actually quite a few guys like that here) has available. 

So...what to do? Most of us like to try different gear and then move it on. The classifieds on AVF provides us with a safer environment than GT for instance.

I think that Peter is far from biased from the little time that I've know him. He's a senior forum member and a reputable guy that we all know quiet well and when he says there is something for sale then it is. In the excitement of the moment he may have posted in the wrong section by mistake which is something we all do at some time.

However, a mitigating factor is that he gives random gifts which negates his profit and creates a net affect of zero.

I suspect everyone selling in the classifieds are biased, trying to sell you something...

Just checking, is the rule now that tradegroup can't put in the classifieds?

I can see where that might bugger the trade group a little, as even though I hardly ever buy anything, I always look at classifieds, often for the banter... hut hardly ever at the trade group stuff, unless I'm really bored or a specific topic catches my eye... If people like Hi-Phibian and Peter and Pappa3 can only post in the Trade Group... well that would be OK, but I'd have to look there more often... I know this is a turnaround from a personal view I held for a while, but the times they are a changing.
