IMO you cannot compare these to the Wharfedale Diamond 10.1's...

The Diamond 10.1's are great little bookshelves (I have owned a pair of Diamond 10.1's) but the MA's are in a different class
Under construction again...

Like their older versions, the BX2's efficiency is rated at 90dB/1w@1m. If you use them for background music, I doubt you'll use more than say 5W. Then its background music for a party. ;) So yes, your amp will be just dandy.
I used to have SUPER POWERS.
But my therapist took them away. :vsad:

How does these speakers compare to the Diamond 10.1s ? Is it worth spending an extra grant on them ?

They do not compare...
These have actually won WhatHiFi's Speaker of the year award for 2010 and Best stereo speakers £200-£350, Awards 2011.
Doubt Warfdale can say that :-0

wharfedales can say that, the diamonds have a history of being the best value for money loudspeakers on the market for afew years now (diamond 9 especially), granted the monitor audios are also very good, but its subjective as they have completely different sounds, the MA's are far more aggresive sounding than wharfedales which are more laid back and perhaps boring to some. they do compete directly with one another and it comes down to what you like

Sorry for the delay guys. Yes, they're still available. Interest in these speakers has increased sharply over the past few days :D.

I used to think my 10.1s were awesome - A member of this forum laughed at me when I described them as "decent" :D - but when you listen to the BX2s you will immediately notice that the 10.1's mids and highs leave a lot to be desired. It's like pulling wool out of your ears. They can sound "clinical" so it comes down to personal preference really. I agree with cj 100%.
