What do you have against the Foo Fighters?
too me, one of the best album of 2011 is Wasting Light

Take that Song Walk, Press play. Turn the volume knob... turn it some more... and then just a little more. Wait for that "Cresendo" Turn the volume knob again... just a bit. You want to be almost at the point where the speakers complain. (The neighbours should complain) The pinnacle of that song gives me goose bumps every time!

I think that's his way of saying he likes Foo Fighters very, very much. Strange one that BWS is.

Indeed, Foo fighters have no business being in the Metal category, Rock, yes but definitely not metal.
Nothing against them at all BTW

Now that we have the metal heads focused on this thread. There was another big release last year wrt melodic, or progresive metal.
In Flames was the one. What was the other one? It was HUGE, but I missed the name. I think it was one of the younger bands.

Looks like history repeating itself.

From wikipedia

Quote
The Academy recognized hard rock music artists for the first time in 1989 under the category Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental, combining two of the most popular music genres of the 1980s.[3] Jethro Tull won that award for the album Crest of a Knave, beating Metallica, who were expected to win with the album ...And Justice for All. This choice led to widespread criticism of the Academy, as journalists suggested that Jethro Tull's music did not belong in the hard rock or heavy metal genres.[4][5] In response, the Academy created the categories Best Hard Rock Performance and Best Metal Performance, separating the genres. The incident is often considered an example of the Grammy Awards being out of touch with popular sentiment, and was even named the biggest upset in Grammy history by Entertainment Weekly.

From 2012, the combined Hard Rock/Metal category will return following a major overhaul of Grammy Awards categories. The separate Best Hard Rock Performance and Best Metal Performance categories will be merged into the slightly renamed Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category.
