I ordered 12 YELLO Cd’s from Look & Listen in Boksburg in September 2011, paid R800 Deposit. So far I received 6. Still waiting for the other 6. >:( >:( They will never see Me again. Does it normally take this long to order Cd’s from oversees? Or am I just over reacting? :o They did tell Me it only takes 3 Weeks for the Cd's to get there.   MMmmmmm , maybe it's my face :-\

I've ordered stuff from L&L that has taken more than a year! Seriously. I'd even forgotten about it & bough the stuff overseas. Then they phoned me to tell me it had arrived.

Amazing just how pathetic many local business' have become. It's a business cultural issue at the coalface: no sense of urgency, pride, or ownership, no understanding of basic economics or interest in an employer's money making model, but a moerse sense of entitlement and the mistaken belief that the business' will always be there regardless of how badly people do their jobs.

I even went so far as righting there Head Office a nasty email 2 Months ago, up until now, no response. No customer service what’s so ever. It breaks my heart when I read on the Forum, that some guys are ordering CD's for next to nothing oversees and getting them a week or two later. I must get myself a Credit Card, but I am so dam scared of all this Credit Card fraud that’s going around. Been there once , never want to experience anything like that again . But now I have to suffer, because of that and our poor South African Customer Services

You don't need to get a card with a high limit. Stick to something like a R2k facility and then you just deposit money into it when you want to make a purchase. That way you limit the risk but still have the convenience.

Hellopeter.co.za normally gets you a quicker response.
LF: Cheap but decent interconnects so I can try to hear the difference, or not.

I actually never thought about that ??? Think it's because of all the trauma and stress that was involved with the last Credit card I had, took Me 2 Years to settle the R70,000. So I inprinted this in my Mind never to own a card ever again. But yes this sounds like a brilliant idea. Thanks Gert for bringing this up.

Gert's suggestion is good. Credit card purchases on the Net are really not dangerous, especially if you buy from a reputable supplier.

What happened with the first card?

Someone spend R70,000 on it. I went to the bank. they could not find anything wrong with it and said I was responsible for this. So what to do? I had to pay it >:( The same thing happened with MTN. I got a business contract for a 1000 free minutes a Month. The next thing they bill Me almost R15,000 and switch my phone of. I went to MTN , the guy told Me there is no way that anything is wrong as I had the sim card with Me. Next thing my X asked him, Who's number is shown on the statement, it appears many times. He looked at it and turned red. Then He told us that there is some employee locked up for corruption charges. That’s his number shown on the statement. He gave Me a Telephone number and said I must phone this number and tell them what happened. The next thing nobody knew nothing and this employee  disappeared in to thin air , no one knew nothing??? This happened about 10 years ago

I had my fare share of Fraud and it was always Me paying, not the bad guys, that’s so wrong. That’s why I don’t want a contract phone anymore and the same goes for credit cards. But now I am forced to get one with a low limit  :)

Jacques,
Do get yourself a credit card (with limit) as Gert has suggested and buy your cds from Amazon.UK or other online specialist music outlets.  You need to register on their (Amazon.Uk) web site and for purchases you will need a credit card.  They (Amazon.co.uk) offer free shipping to SA for purchases of 25GBP minimum and there are some real bargains to be found.  I have purchased most of my music from them and have encountered no problems at all so far.  The cds arrive here most often within 3 weeks and generally speaking the cds are cheaper (even with customs included) than in the local stores.  If the local stores carry the variety of different titles and at more reasonable prices I will support them for sure but at the moment Amazon (UK) just works for me - much, much more convenient and cheaper also.

Amazon UK is great - have bought many CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays. No hassle whatsoever.
