LEAK STEREO 20
« on: December 23, 2011, 10:41:38 am »
Hi All

Recently purchased a Leak from our man in the Cape to experiment with. Need some advice on setting her up though which I can't seem to find on the web. It has 3 voltage selections 200-210, 220-230, 240-250..........which one is the SA standard? I'm trying to look on the back of appliances but each appliance states something different. Secondly, how do the jumpers work to select from 4, 8 or 16 ohm impedance? Anybody who has still got there's please help. I haven't switched it on as yet I've just inserted the valves.

I have a pre here that should do that leak some justice..... need to have it checked 1960's CM Laboratories cc2....needs a little love, has variable gain setting which would be most helpful with the Leak.....if i get it sorted, you can take her cheap as chips....has phono as well!!!

there are 5 holes which means there are 2 options for 8 ohm speakers. Which 2 of the 3 do you use? I used the 2 closer to the 4 ohm side on mine...
LF: Cheap but decent interconnects so I can try to hear the difference, or not.

I think mines are the other way around for 8 ohm...........closer to the 16 ohm, that is. Whats your voltage selector on?

220/230v hasn't exploded yet.

Found this on the web "Running a power supply set to 220 on 110 V power will probably cause it just to not work, but if you set the switch to 110 and run it on 220 V, damage might result."
