And with the above comment you put maybe 30mm hardwood fence on the jaws, and drill 15mm benchdog holes in the woodfences and then the table,it will definitely work.

Pappa 3, a solid core pine door (R500-00+-)will also work very well for a top,

and if you need cheap PAR pine please Pm me     (R1800-00 a cube ;))
You can get any small quantity you want,I only have about 1,5 cube @ the moment at home, but can get up to 4 cube in a day or so , even this time of the year .
Max length 2,4m, min length 0,9m.

Benchdogs are pegs, square or round, that is inserted in your bench that extends your clamping capabilities of your benchvice.
Your benchvice will have holes in it with holes in a straight line in the bench opposite that hole

I bought a cheap second hand bench a while back and is currently modifying it. I am adding MDF to the edges to make clamping to the bench easier. It does have an 'indent' in the top for tools while you work. I am going to cut this out and put a removable box in that can be turned over to make the whole top flat.

I've almost completed mine.  Still can't post photos, it serves my purpose.  It's 1150mm wide.  I would add 15cm if i did it again

Just painted my one bench white,
and build a 1m(fence) x 1,8m(fence support) Biesemeyer tablesaw fence with Uhmwpe pads ,
the only mistake was that I did not compensate for the Hammerite,
was out by 0,35mm, bloody Hammerite :D
