they can be found to within 5 metres of where the phone is but nothing will be done about it - they dont even do anything about stolen cellphones anyway

All you can do is use their number whenever  someone asks where they can send promotional material and scratch it on the door of a public toilet. Sorted!

Yes guys watch out for guys phoning from avsa.  Con artists are trolling there too.  Never agree to meet, and be careful that you screen whoever you allow to collect/demo at your home.  "Paul" wanted my PL100s, but couldn't afford to phone me, just a sms - he's number in case you want to save it under 'con artist - Paul' is 071 158 0680

I do realise there are many con artists out there and you have to be careful, but because I suffer from the inconveniance of an anytime ringing cell phone, I for one will allways respond on an advert with a sms, most probably because I feel it is polite not to phone someone. The seller can then respond in his own time.

Heaven forbid that I ever want to buy something from Francois, hahaha

Let me put it this way.... when its someone on this forum I prefer he gets the stuff from me BEFORE I accept payment (and several have).... but then he must be known to some of you gentlemen

Every person I have met on this forum, are really nice people, each totally different BUT, they love music, equipment and I have yet to meet a dishonest one, touch wood 

And yes, if the scammer try and rip me me I will take him out.... it will be my pleasure

Why don't we respond this way on the given day that he calls one of the forum members - as many forumites call him/ sms him responding to his call back as if we all own the same piece of equipment and keep him busy... till he gets the message!

Each and every time this piece of scum does it, we go after him by letting him know he's not welcome here  and that we are aware of his activities on AVSA.

I also had a sms today from ( 071 1580 680 Paul )to call him . This fool did not even know what was the asking price. According to him ,situated in Rosebank.

Hey guys,

Had a similar story with the Graig 076 362 4408 guy last week he tried to con me out a Rotel Processor I put up for sale, the guy first sends you an sms asking if the stuff is still available and then he asks for you banking details and later on, when banks are closed, you get an sms from the 'bank' telling you so much has been deposited into your account. Then he will call asking to meet with you in the evening so that he can collect. I caught him out with the sms from the bank, the sms was sent to the phone number that my bank doesn't have and also by asking him to meet with me the following day, needless to say, the guy has never called me again.

We need to trap these guys and give them a whooping, just saying    !!
