Acoustat Speakers
« on: November 10, 2011, 01:38:43 pm »
Greetings Forum members,
Does anyone have a set of Acoustat speakers which I may listen to?
Failing which, is there someone with a faulty set of these speakers he/she wishes to get rid of (in other words) sell.
I thank you in advance

Mike

Acoustat "3", 30 yrs young playing like a charm (to my ears). Your profile doesn't say where you are?

you need a decent amp to drive them properly and to full potential as was revealed to fdlsys and other 2+2 owner  ;D

Very true. But even at less-than full potential, they sound magnificent.
I hope to know soon what FW-F5 and Geco-NAC200 will be able to do with them.

@ fdlsys,

My apologies, I am in Centurion, so a trip to Randburg will work for me.

This saturday I will be attending the DIY expo thing and I hope to meet Rudi there and maybe if you are going to be there I will meet you too and we can then arrange for a listen at a time which will suit you.
Thanks again, can't wait for my ears to absorb the sweet sounds of your Acoustats

Have not been out much due to the Green Tinge I have been wearing, after having been exposed to the Acoustat Virus.

Please make sure everyone there takes out at least three subs each. I have a hungry cat to feed.

Heehheee - I warned you. Remember, I had Maggies (Francois, reading this?) before the Acoustats. Once I got used to the sound of Acoustats and learned to live with the 10x10cm sweet spot (1 week), and after that compared them to Maggies, Maggies got folded away...

@Andrew - Darn! There goes my plan of bringing my pet hamster with!

No, bring it - we can have an auction to raise more money. I won't be there, I'll be down South at the yard being scorched by the sun, but I think Joel is coming through.
