akg q 701? who sells them in S.A?

so i saw these online and after hearing a cheaper pair of akg's i think these would be pretty good, but im not sure where the best place is in jhb to get them from or even if anyone has them, plus is SA pricing butt loads higher as it is with sennheiser?

I think Wild & Marr are the agents. Just note that you likely to pay double for the AKG when compared to a similar Senn can. Of course, overseas the prices are matched. Best is to get it from a company like iHeadphones.co.uk. Shipping is around 20GBP.

Got my AKGs from A1Sound. They've got a website and pricing was keen. Their shop is in town, which is always dodgy.

There is some good deals price wise on EBAY but they are sometimes factory refurbished or open-box/demo.
AKG / Harmon International will only honor the warranty if bought from a official distributor.

But around R 3700 it is a good deal. Locally I got a quote some time back for R 7500.

Rather go for the 702 as it has a mini XLR removable cable thus one can upgrade the cable as xenithon hinted to.

I bought a set of 702's from Take2 (now takelaot) and they were faulty , "crunchy" bass at higher levels , took a long time to get Take2 to acknowledge they were faulty , they had em "tested" (Ipod at ful vol) , eventually they came to my place and admitted they could hear the problem , prolly took at least a month to get a credit/refund. They were on special from Amazon at the time , R3800. I would rather buy Xeni's phones with cable than new from an online dealer.

Wild and Marr afaik are no longer the agents or maybe they have split pro and consumer like on JBL.
Afaik it is now with Connoisseur Electronics. Prices can only be better than W&M...
