PureAudio head unit with Blueteef, RDS, USB, SD card etc. Bloody excellent unit, despite it being a cheapy brand.
Calibra 4ch amp driving front stage and sub.
Power Acoustic two-way setup in the doors (factory locations).
Stock Audi two-ways in the parcel shelf for rear fill, driven off the head-unit.
10" Pioneer sub in a sealed box, carpeted to match the boot trim.

It looks 100% stock, and sounds great. Also not setup to be boomy - it's a system built to enjoy music. In fact, I find myself from time to time wishing I had a bit more volume to use, despite the amp...
More often than not I have a 4gb USB drive plugged in filled with hours & hours of music - gooi random and listen for a few weeks without a single track repeating itself. 8)

some of you has got "see ri aas" systems in your cars,my system is standard .we try-ed to put a sub in once but could not get it balanced to the rest so i decided against it.And as we all know you don't change much on a Jeep, it might just leave you next to the road.

Currently my Polo has a Kenwood CD headunit with iPod kit. Front doors has a set of Hertz HSK165 component speakers with tweeters in the factory position on the A pillars.

Amplifier is a 4 channel RE Audio VLX 150.4

Single 10" RE Audio REX 10

Audison interconnects and Audison and Lightning Audio speaker cable.

I have a Dynaudio System 242 set I will be replacing the Hertz with soon.

i should come in here only in lower case letters, what with all the snazzy systems ....

But on long drives I enjoy classics - certain ones, often of the more romantic Beethoven - Liszt - Bruckner etc. mood types. Anyway, I had a really realistic sound stage in my Tredia: Mid-high drivers mounted horizontal in the custom-provided places on the top part of the dash (the horizontal part going to the front window), reflecting off the window directly at me. No special drivers, just decent dual-cone 120mm types. The l.f. units were 20cm. Infinities mounted in the rear sill using the boot as 'box' - could get to a good 35 Hz after I sorted out the rattles. Source: Still casettes; just cant be bothered to buy a new CD contrivance for the car. Using a memo-stick would however be an obvious advantage.

Now using my late wife's Exa's fairly decent 4-channel Pioneer (two front, two rear). I combined each side's twins with an electronic cross-over to have l.f. rear and h.f. fronts. This gives a quite acceptable in-the-hall kind of experience. I again found it easy to thus create a spacial effect; quite enjoyable on the open road. Only problem is the higher-than-normal background noise which can be a problem for some large dynamics music (would probably benefit by a dynamic compressor).

(would probably benefit by a dynamic compressor).

I've been considering the same, as I enjoy listening to very dynamic rock, like Floyd and Dire Straits in the car, and at high-way speeds, despite the car being very quiet inside, the softer passages does tend to go amiss when the loud bits are at a good level.

At 20-40km/h cruising though (as I do when in peak traffic into town on the N1), it's just glorious to have the full dynamic range on offer however!

My turn:

In my beemer (before I moved to Tanzania 4 months ago and ripped it all out) was:
- Stock headunit - I hate modifying my cars
- DLS R6A splits in the front, 6.5 " midrange, silk dome tweet and passive crossover -
- Rockford Fosgate 360.2 processor - amazing toy!
- 2x Rockford Fosgate P2 10" subs
- Audison Lrx 3.1k amplifier (2 channel AB class for the fronts at about 160w RMS and D class mono for the sub @ 700w RMS) which sounded incredible! Effortless power!

It was amazing! I loved it! A few members here have actually listened to it before, Bryd did as far as I can recall at out first CT sound meet.

Luckily enough, for me I picked up my new car today (Nissan X-trail) and it's got a Eclipse touchscreen DVD/navigation/CD head unit. Eclipse is apparently very very good audiophile type stuff (which I didn;t know at all!). So I will soon start modding and putting my sound in.

For my travels it's a simple iPod classic or tablet with a set of Shure's I picked up from a fellow forumite.

In my hotel (yes I'm still in a hotel) I lugged up my old faithful Nad 3020 and also my DLS R50 bookshelf speakers off my iPod which I am absolutely loving! I need my musical escape no matter what!

Added  2x 8" speakers (not dedicated subs)in an isobaric configuration to get the box volume down low. No big thumping bass, just adds to the standard system. It was more of an academic exercise to see how an isobaric box works.

ps. I made the box in such a way to make it easy to remove if I need the space in the boot, it's been out for a few months now.....

Mine is stock, like the rest of my car. All I've done was to add some sound deadening to the boot and doors. Those front doors were playing louder outside as the door are huge (3door hatch) and had 0 padding. Now outside plays only as loud as in.... :P
I used to have SUPER POWERS.
But my therapist took them away. :vsad:

I also changed the standard setup in my scooby (nope, the slow one). I use 4" point source Morel drivers in a custom pod on the top part of my front doors, and a set of HCW 6" Morel midbase drivers in the lower part of the front doors, and a 12" JL audio sub to assist in the lower end. These  are powered off DLS amplification.
