LF: Klipsch speakers (stereo)
« on: September 13, 2011, 04:51:26 pm »
I am looking for a set of well priced Klipsch speakers, factory spec and in perfect working condition.

Preferably floor standing, but will also consider bookshelf designs.
Please PM me if you have a set, or are able to point me in the right direction.

Location: JHB.

Thanks,
Ian.

Now you are heading in the right direction!!  ;) ;D

You may want to try Hi Fi Installations in Centurion. They sometimes stock second hand units. 012 663 1122

+1 LOL  ;D

I heard a pair of floorstanders the other day. Very nice, especially considering the bloke had them placed quite unsympathetically...

I fell off my chair and had to recover first when I saw this post, so it took some time...  ;D :)

They are speakers that sound good, no matter how and where you put them.
But if you get them correctly set up, they sound even more bef0k - no other word comes to mind (sorry Mods). ;)

Off course you know that Ian's going to take them apart and improve on the design? ;)

I had no doubt, but he will be hard pressed to improve on those drivers.  ;)

No man, he wants music in his house for inbetween upgrades and builds, that no-one will offer him money for.
OK! I've had it! I don't give anymore Kharma. Kharma should work in mysterious ways...

Thanks for all the comment gents  ;D

I have a really good set of HE speakers up and running at the moment.  I want something commercial to compare them to - Klipsch being one of the few commercially available HE designs out there it is a natural choice.

Obviously there is nothing stopping me from opening them up and applying some customization here and there  ;)

Regards,
Ian.

Won't it just be cheaper to take yours to the shop and ask for a comparison  ;D

It will be cheaper to go to a shop and ask for a comparison.

I need the speakers for a bit longer term listening.  I don't think the shop owners will be too impressed with me removing a driver, etc either  ;D

Thanks,
Ian.

I somehow get the feeling that it will not be Ian who is patronised 8)
