Elipsa Clone
« on: August 13, 2011, 05:06:15 pm »
So after looking at Rudi's PMS build to be and hunting for drivers ( and ending up with 16 drivers and tweeters ...Go figure ) I decided on this, still some tweeking to do, but that's the idea. I'll do some MDF kerfs for the front and back and Veneer it, Aiming for some grey ash or maple, Leatherette baffle and all :)

Classic 3 way with Fountek NeoCD1 Tweeter, Morel CAM 558 and Usher 8955a's I'm picking up from Stu tomorrow

Yep, just googled it, will be watching the build with interest, have ordered the same ribbons as you from Stu (xumbug). Planning to use them with Seas mid that I bought about a month ago. Still undecided on what I will be doing, but the Modulus on Humble homemade hifi is very inspiring so far  :)

Where have I heard that one before  :D

I wonder how many unstarted/unfinished projects are out there? My to-do list is endless and I keep going to the post office to collect parcels. But I think, no matter what, it still is a lot better than having a half built AC Cobra in the backyard!!!!!  :D  :D  :D

I HAD a '71 BMW 3.0s, daily driver but not in perfect nick. Was always restoring something on it.
I think there is a common thread with us DIY types, I think we just like to fiddle with stuff, no matter what it is! :)

So its 'like new'? ;D

AB, are you cloning the Ellipsa as a whole or just the shape and config? What I mean is, do you know what the actual drivers is that they're using?
I used to have SUPER POWERS.
But my therapist took them away. :vsad:
