Constant DNS issues
« on: August 03, 2011, 06:43:51 am »
For the past week or so I've been getting regular errors trying to access http://www.avforums.co.za/, basically implying that there's no such website.  So my question is, are others experiencing the same problem (pointing to a problem with the hosting) or is it just me experiencing this (pointing to problems with my ISP's DNS servers)?

from my side it seems like the site is experiencing high latency issues. Has some or other ip filter been installed?

I have that problem intermittently, once, twice a day maybe. Methinks its a hosting issue ?

I'm also thinking it's a hosting issue because I don't experience the issue with any other site.

Code: [Select]
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at http://www.avforums.co.za/.
    *   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
          moments.

    *   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
          connection.

    *   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Haven't had any issues here. ISP issue maybe? I browse through Vodacom at home, and MTN Business at work.

I get this error quite often as well - so there's at least a few of us experiencing the same problem.

I've also have daily 'Invalid Server' replies. I thought it was a MTN thing because I don't get it on my ADSL which is hosted by Web Africa.
I used to have SUPER POWERS.
But my therapist took them away. :vsad:

No issues like that here; from home (Axxess ISP), or from work (IS ISP)

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at www.avforums.co.za.
Check the address for typing errors such as
    ww.example.com instead of
    www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I've never had an issue off any of the routes I tried (and there are many)

Maybe you guys that have problems should note your ISP here?
